I feel this software shows promise, but they need to work on response time if they want to be competitive. At this point, I still can't find anything I like better than ACDSee Ultimate. I would say it is no worse than Affinity Photo's UI, after a couple of hours of frustrating confusion, most people can learn it.īut that incredibly slow response time renders it totally unusable for me. It would take the place of the conventional layers based file format based on the multipage tif file. It seems that there is an extremely proprietary sidecar file created that contains your OnOne editing information. But first, let me address your specific question. Your question made me curious, I had never even tried OnOne Raw in spite of the fact that I am a compulsive software junkie. I read somewhere that some plugins support exporting layers as smart object in to Photoshop but I don't know that you can do that with Lightroom. Maybe I'm not understanding your question but to my knowledge Lightroom does not support layers so it will make sense to flatten the layers when exporting to Lightroom. Hopefully I'm just missing something obvious. There doesn't even seem to be a save as option where you could save it with a new file name preserving layers and adj. Has anyone found a workaround? This seems like very dumb design since saving all the changes and layers is part of the logic around a product like that.

The manual seems to suggest this is the design and not a bug. But when using it that way, On1 flattens all layers and adjustments back into the psd image sent over from LR. But I have been trying to use it as a plug in to LR, which is an advertised usage. There seems to be much about On that is very good.
